Shredding Plastic-Metal Composites:
New UNTHA XR3000C mobil-e Shredder
At RDG Recycling Group, we process plastic-metal composites and produce high-purity plastic granulates that can be recycled and used to manufacture new products. Our recycling processes are supported by a powerful UNTHA XR3000C mobil-e shredder.
Various Materials, New Technologies
Material compositions are becoming increasingly diverse. There is no longer just one type of plastic. Products often contain different plastics or even combinations of plastic and metal. To recover these materials efficiently at the end of their first life cycle, they need to be processed using the right technologies. At RDG Recycling Group, our goal is to advance the circular economy. Through innovative recycling processes, we help conserve valuable resources and reduce CO₂ emissions. Our new UNTHA shredder plays an important role in this approach.
Many shredders are designed for specific types of materials. However, processing different or changing materials and composite materials can present challenges. RDG was therefore looking for a shredding solution that could handle a wide range of plastic materials and composites while offering the flexibility needed to process different material streams.
“We needed a shredder capable of processing plastic-metal composites and came across the UNTHA XR3000C mobil-e. The machine completely convinced us. It enables us to efficiently pre-shred our materials and prepare them for the subsequent processing steps,” says Franz Kobleder, Managing Director of RDG Recycling Group.
Material Testing and Live Demonstrations
UNTHA offers customers the opportunity to thoroughly test its shredding technology before making a purchasing decision. The process starts by defining the specific requirements, including the input material, its size and composition, the desired output size and the required throughput.
Customers can then test the shredder using their own materials under real operating conditions and experience its performance first-hand. Throughout the testing process, UNTHA’s experts provide support to help achieve the best possible results.
Driving the Circular Economy Forward
The new shredder supports RDG in producing up to 16,000 tonnes of recycled granulate per year while saving around 32,000 tonnes of CO₂.
For RDG, this is another important step towards advancing the circular economy, conserving resources and reducing the environmental impact of plastic waste.
